Mouthguards should typically be worn as a part of your athletic gear whenever you play sports. Contact and collision sports like boxing and football, put you at higher risk, but activities such as skateboarding and basketball can also put you at high risk for accidents.
Mouthguard maintenance is simple. Rinse it before and after every use and clean it thoroughly with a toothbrush and some toothpaste. You should also wash it regularly in cold, soapy water and rinse it well. Store and transport your mouth wear in a dry place so bacteria cannot form. Do not leave it in hot places as it may change shape.
Speak with one of our qualified dentists about replacing your mouthguard. If it shows signs of wear or fits improperly, you should have it replaced immediately.
